Description
We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh. This role will be based in Kansas City. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.The Account Manager is a seasoned professional responsible for developing and executing insurance placement strategies, managing complex client accounts, and fostering long-term relationships with clients and carriers. This role leverages extensive risk expertise, industry knowledge, and market insights to deliver tailored insurance solutions, support client retention, and drive new business growth. The account manager collaborates across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery, compliance, and strategic alignment with client needs and market conditions.
We will count on you to:
- Use risk and industry expertise to design and implement placement solutions that align with client needs and commercial objectives.
- Prepare and submit coverage specifications and obtain carrier quotes under the "assist, advise, and assume" transaction model.
- Bind coverage and maintain accurate placement binders, exhibits, and contract documentation to high standards of procedural compliance.
- Contribute to pricing strategy development and go-to-market approaches to support competitive placement outcomes.
- Interface with client executives, advisors, underwriters, and internal teams to support client retention, new business development, and responsive service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with practice groups, insurance markets, carriers, and underwriters to enhance market access and collaboration.
- Monitor and interpret market practices, pricing trends, and underwriting policies; translate insights into placement strategies and client advisories.
- Oversee account and project management activities-timely renewals, data accuracy, contract execution-and ensure all work adheres to regulatory, professional, and internal compliance standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or a related field, with 2-4 years' experience in insurance brokerage, placement, or risk management across Property, Casualty, and Executive Protection (FINPRO).
- Proven track record managing complex client accounts and developing effective placement solutions.
- Deep knowledge of insurance markets, underwriting practices, risk assessment, and broad coverage across Property, Casualty, and FINPRO lines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to inform placement and account decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client engagement, stakeholder management, and collaborative work.
- Able to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Relevant broker licenses or certifications (e.g., insurance broker license in the U.S.) are preferred.

All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week.
