- Energy Auditor (Energy Services Technician II)
Description
Community Action Opportunities is seeking an Energy Service Technician II to perform initial assessments on residential units. The audits conducted evaluate the energy-efficiency and health/safety improvements needed in dwellings.
Highlighted Responsibilities
- Assess residential buildings using required equipment to determine energy-efficiency and health/safety needs
- Document assessments in tools using assigned tablets, manual forms and photos
- Provide education sessions to residents, including energy saving tips and the recommended work for the home
- Prepare work orders which includes estimated material and labor costs based on the technical mathematical computations completed

Requirements
Education and Experience
Graduation from a regionally or CHEA accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree in building science or environmental engineering science is preferred. A high school diploma with two years of experience is also acceptable.
Special Requirements
Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver’s License on the date of hire.
Obtain WaWeb certification within 90 days of hire date.
Acquire OSHA-30-hour, Asbestos O&M, and Lead Safe Renovator certifications within 120 days of hire.
Earn Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Auditor certification within two years of hire.
