- Maintains strategic oversight of sales and account management, primarily focused on Small Business functions with some overlap with Key Accounts
- Accountable for all sales/account management related functions to include product development, sales operations, RFP process, proposal content, broker/client communication, client/broker events, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Provides oversight, guidance and strategic direction to sales leadership team
- Represents UnitedHealthcare to brokers, consultants, clients, regulators, politicians and others in the community
- Responsible to prepare business plans, forecasts, budgets and track results working with CFO and CEO
- Outlines initiatives and ensures execution to achieve departmental goals. Identifies talent and opportunities for development
- Prepares and presents business results and strategies to local and senior leadership
- Develops and transforms strategies to ensure net growth, profitability, NPS, persistency, ancillary and NBEA goals are met
- Oversees the producer appointment process ensuring compliance with Department of Insurance along with the market distribution strategy for all lines of business
- Creates and manages long term vision for sales/account management team to drive sustainable results
- Maintains working knowledge of products, network, competitiveness in market and executes on areas of opportunity
- Detailed understanding of all UnitedHealthcare products, capabilities, services and solutions
- Understands goals, operating principles, strategies and competitive position of UnitedHealthcare
- In depth healthcare knowledge and understands important trends along with ability to identify initiatives to impact. Demonstrates knowledge of competitive landscape and deployed strategies
- Understands medical management operations and impact to consumer
- Understands financing methodologies and intent of these options (fully insured, ASO)
- Thorough knowledge of underwriting principles and practices with ability to discuss the data including national trends
- Understands the drivers of fees and liabilities. Solid presentation skills. Ability to influence and negotiate complex situations
- Ability to deal with clients and brokers of all levels sophistication levels
- Ability to develop effective plans for achieving business/sales goals

Required Qualifications:
- Sales Insurance License Maintained by Law
- 5+ years of sales experience in the insurance/medical benefits industry
- 5+ years of experience working with brokers/consultants
- 5+ years of experience meeting sales goals/targets
- 5+ years of experience using data analysis to drive change
- Willingness to travel as required
- Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proficiency in Microsoft suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- 3+ years of people management experience
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
