Join our Accounting team at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic as a Staff Accountant.
This position is located on-site at our Toppenish Administration Office.
This role is ideal for a detailoriented accounting professional who wants their work to directly support meaningful community health programs. You’ll play a key role in ensuring grant funding is stewarded responsibly and transparently, helping Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic advance its mission across healthcare, behavioral health, and community services. Position Highlights:

$28.89-$35.39 per hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates

What You’ll Do:
-
Provide fiscal administrative support to contract coordinators, directors, and funding agencies for Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (YVFWC) grant contracts
-
Prepare budget and expense reports for YVFWC grants, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and private regulations Perform budget preparation and process monthly reimbursement requests for assigned contracts

Perform analysis of grant contracts by comparing grant budgets to expense information on a monthly basis and identify potential areas of noncompliance or discrepancies

Prepare journal entries for grant activity according to the contract, including tracking and allocating payroll, costs, preparation of grant billings, and report submission

Assist in applying knowledge of grant regulations and reporting requirements and provide guidance to managers to help them understand financial requirements for grants Consult OMB circulars and other regulatory publications

Monitor grants accounts receivable postings and verify that correct payments are received

Organize financial documents and prepare detailed reports for external auditors, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory guidelines

Prepare special reports to support the accounting team as needed

Oversee the general ledgers for all grant contracts in the Clinic, Behavioral Health Services (BHS), and Northwest Community Action Center (NCAC) divisions

Assist with identifying fixed assets and depreciation schedules as needed

Assist with the monthly reconciliation process for subsidiary ledgers and the general ledger

Assist with the preparation of monthly journal entries to support the monthend processes required by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
With an Associate’s Degree or higher in Accounting or Business Administration:

At least 2 years of professional work experience in bookkeeping and general ledger transactions OR

With a High School Diploma or GED:
-
At least 4 years of professional work experience in bookkeeping and general ledger transactions.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
-
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, grant accounting, and OMB Uniform Guidance.

High accuracy working with detailed financial data, complex instructions, and confidential information.
-
Solid analytical, mathematical, and problemsolving abilities.
-
Strong organization and timemanagement skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make effective decisions.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.
-
Proficiency with Excel and basic competence with Outlook, Word, and other computer programs.
