Description
This Senior Builders Risk Broker role is designed to lead strategy, placement, and execution for large, complex construction programs, including flagship global accounts such as Alphabet/Google. The role sits at the center of client, market, and internal coordination-driving risk strategy, structuring innovative insurance solutions, and leading placements for multi-billion-dollar project portfolios across the construction lifecycle.This is a hybrid role that requires working 2-3 days per week from a local Aon Office.

What the day will look like
Serve as the lead Builders Risk strategist and broker for large, complex client portfolios, including hyperscale and global construction programs, owning the end-to-end placement strategy across multiple projects and phases. This includes designing program structures, deploying limits, shaping catastrophe approaches, and driving optimal brokered outcomes. Act as the senior point of coordination across client stakeholders, internal Aon teams, and global insurance markets to ensure seamless execution and alignment.
- Lead and direct the placement of Builders Risk programs for large-scale projects (>$500M to $10B+), including complex, phased, and multi-location developments
- Drive account-level strategy in coordination with Account Executives and leadership, ensuring alignment across broking, analytics, claims, and global placement teams
- Provide senior-level risk assessment and structuring guidance, including catastrophe exposure, PD and DSU/BI considerations, and contract risk allocation
- Lead direct negotiations with senior underwriting decision-makers across global carrier markets
Shape market approach and engagement strategy, including panel structure, participation levels, and capacity optimization
• Influence underwriting outcomes through positioning, technical expertise, and portfolio-level insights - Support and lead delivery for strategic global accounts with large, multi-project pipelines, ensuring consistency of approach, scalability, and performance across all placements
- Coordinate placements across multiple jurisdictions and project phases, including integration with operational coverages (e.g., PD and DSU/BI, cyber, liability) where relevant
- Provide thought leadership on construction risk trends, insurance structuring, and emerging exposures (e.g., serial loss, commissioning risk, supply chain disruption) to both clients and internal teams

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Demonstrated experience leading large, complex Builders Risk placements ($500M+), including program structuring and market negotiation
- Proven ability to manage and influence insurer relationships at a senior level
- Experience working on portfolio or programmatic construction accounts (multi-project / global) preferred
- Strong understanding of catastrophe exposure, PD and DSU/BI, and construction lifecycle risk
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience.
- Must maintain an active Property and Casualty insurance license, or be able to acquire one within the first 90 days of employment.

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $242,700 to $315,500 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of New York, NY. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
