Come be a valued member of a dynamic Medicare distribution organization as we build a next generation, omni-channel distribution platform that aligns to a changing landscape and is tailored to the evolving needs of agents and consumers. The Marketing and Communications Specialist is a member of the Sales Strategy and Experience team that is responsible for ensuring our internal and external stakeholders have the information needed to deliver our value proposition to Medicare consumers and support company growth goals. This role is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded, savvy communicator to impact our business and support our 90,000+ contracted Medicare field agents through targeted communications. This role's primary function will be focused on supporting and developing content including communications, website articles, call campaigns, newsletters, reference guides, and other resources to communicate critical information and deliver a best-in-class agent experience. This role will also support internal communications to our 2,500 team-members and be part of a cross-functional team with partners across field sales, product, marketing, service, technology, legal, operations and others to help optimize outreach and deliver a best-in-class agent experience.
This position will support high-impact programs and communications that advance agent engagement across several key initiatives such as our agent newsletter, agent recognition, and training.
This position is full-time, hybrid schedule (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, with 4 days in the office and 1 day remote. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer weeks of paid training. The hours of training will be based on your schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Write/edit content for internal and external stakeholders that is clear, creative, error - free and grammatically correct.
- Submit and receive legal/compliance review for external materials.
- Develop strong trusting relationships with internal business partners to support understanding and collaboration of our agent communication efforts (marketing, product, PHD, ALM, legal/compliance, operations, digital, data analytics, etc.).
- Build and deploy HTML emails through email marketing platforms and track performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create and refine web content and copy for our online agent portal.
- Collect reporting data and update email reports; send report to leaders with insights and trends provided by manager.
- Support strategy and execution for national events including managing event logistics, coordinating registration details, managing project timelines, working with event planning company, and developing creative event experiences.
- Support omni-channel communication campaigns related to our Go-to-Market strategy including AEP readiness, events and certifications.
- Support communications needs for our training team, including eCards that highlight upcoming trainings and thank agents for attending trainings.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 1+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, with a strong focus on content creation across multiple channels, including digital, print, social media, and verbal communications.
- Demonstrated ability to work with discipline, urgency, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing multiple projects
- Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office suite Excel (data analysis, formulas, pivot tables) PowerPoint ( creating presentations) Word (Document formatting, templates) SharePoint (managing shared documents) Teams ( communication and meeting facilitation)
- Flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the health care industry
- Experience planning and coordinating events
- Experience analyzing data and identifying trends and actionable insights
- Experience coding HTML through applications like Adobe Dreamweaver
- Experience in building and executing initiatives in a corporate setting (or in consultation with corporations)
- Knowledge and / or use of Associated Press Stylebook
- Proven excellent project management skills including development of strategic initiatives, active management and execution
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Reside within commutable distance to the office at 9800 Healthcare Lane, Minnetonka, MN
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

- Exceptional written communication and editing ability, with a strong aptitude for planning and executing effective campaigns and tactics

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $58,800 - $105,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
