Description
Position SummaryThe Accountant will play a key role in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. This position also supports departmental planning and contributes to the effective management of core accounting activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the accuracy and reliability of financial information by maintaining well‑structured account records and performing regular reconciliation work.
- Contribute to internal and external reporting by preparing financial schedules, summaries, and on‑demand analysis.
- Strengthen operational efficiency by recommending enhancements to accounting workflows and maintaining clear process documentation.
- Uphold strong control standards by following established policies, applying key accounting principles, and supporting compliance initiatives.
- Use accounting software and analytical tools to research data variances, monitor financial activity, and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with internal teams, respond to information requests, and provide professional support to stakeholders.
- Stay current on regulatory and industry changes that may impact financial reporting or accounting practices.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field, along with 3-5 years of progressive experience in a professional accounting role.
- Strong command of U.S. GAAP and the ability to apply technical accounting guidance; familiarity with statutory reporting is advantageous.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and comfort working with financial systems, data analysis, and reconciliation‑focused work.
- Strong critical‑thinking, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines independently and exercise sound judgment during higher‑volume periods.
