The Risk Solutions Data Science Team provide data products and services to help our business units use technology to create, manage, and optimize information and business processes. These include a wide range of activities such as: model development, process automation, decision support, and data augmentation. The overall goal of the team is to provide technology solutions that increase efficiency, increase revenue, and give our company a competitive advantage over our competitors.
The Risk Solutions division is seeking an Accountant to work a hybrid schedule out of the Cincinnati, OH office.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports
- Prepares journal entries and perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Supports internal and external audits, ensuring the availability of necessary documentation.
- Performs financial analysis to support management decision-making and identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Prepares ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required.
- Supports internal control improvements and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Prepares timely monthly reconciliations of direct and ceded premium, claims cash account, etc.
- Process payment requests for various invoices as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience: Generally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Insurance accounting experience preferred. Completion of or continuing progress toward a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
Scope of Job/Qualifications: Demonstrates technical knowledge across various accounting principles and practices. Works on assignments of moderate technical and logistical complexity. Maintains knowledge of company policies, GAAP, and financial reporting standards. Demonstrates foundational analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates knowledge of company policies and industry laws and regulations. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and across departments.
